Annette Hardouin (born c. 1952) is a French textile designer and master craftsperson, certified as a Maître Artisan en Métiers d'Art. Specialising in pastel blue dyeing and the creation of unique textile pieces, she is recognised as an ambassador of Occitan textile heritage and a member of the Ateliers d'Art de France. Trained at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Hanover, Germany, where she graduated as a Graduierter Mode Designer with honours between 1970 and 1973, Hardouin settled in the Paris region in 1987 following her studies. There she developed an independent practice as a designer, creating clothing collections distributed in boutiques, producing one-of-a-kind pieces, and organising annual exhibition-sales in Paris, Grenoble, Montpellier, Munich, Hamburg, and Bonn. She quickly built an international clientele, presenting two fashion shows per year for a decade, one in Paris each spring and one in Germany each winter. In 1999, Hardouin relocated to Toulouse and co-founded AHPY with stylist, pattern-maker, and husband Yves Patissier. The name combines their initials. The studio became a landmark in the Occitan craft scene, producing unique garments and accessories dyed by hand using woad (Isatis Tinctoria), a plant historically central to the region's textile economy. All fabrics are sourced in France or Europe, GOTS-certified or OEKO-Tex labelled where possible, and dyed entirely in the AHPY atelier in the Minimes neighbourhood of Toulouse before being cut and assembled on site. In 2010, Hardouin was awarded the title of Maître Artisan en Métiers d'Art by the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat de Haute-Garonne, recognising the exceptional level of skill and cultural significance of her work. AHPY has since been listed as an atelier étape on the Route des Métiers d'Art d'Occitanie, welcoming visitors to discover the craft of pastel dyeing through introductory and immersive workshops. Since 2011, Hardouin and Patissier have also dedicated part of their activity to professional training, offering courses in pattern-making, modelling, and garment construction for both professionals seeking technical grounding and individuals pursuing a career change.
